MFM launches new website,Feb.1st

I live in Stellenbosch, the oldest and most beautiful town in South Africa we have a very cool 24hr campus-based community radio station called Mfm 92.6,previously known as Matie FM Stereo (referring to the students of the University of Stellenbosch). I fequently request music on Mfm.It is after all a Top40 based station. My last requests included Iyaz "Replay",Jay Sean-"Do You Remember",and the British band The Script's US breaktrough single,"Breakeven". They will be launching their brand new website this Monday,February the 1st.According to sources, unlike the currrent abandoned site, the new one pomises to be more interactive.Havent really listened to the full line-up for 2010,but my fave shows right now are undoubtedly the Brekkie Show with Luca,Josie and Matt;Detour with the ever cool Lil Cat and Rudizzle's Lunch show.

My Favorite Websites

Some you might know, some you might not. Here's a list to some of my favorite music sites: Alaska Jim: For links to great worldwide harts, across all genres, radio stations and charts you most likely have never heard of. Radio-Info: For all genre-based US airplay charts, including full Billboard Airplay charts. Are you also sad because Billboard.com terminated their Mainstream/Hard Rock Chart (aka Active Rock Chart) ? Well, here you can view the (full!) chart.I think this site serves as a "new" Radio&Records, but also as as a sister site for Billboard. Mediabase: According to their Wiki page, they actually have more affiliate radio stations for airplay monitoring/charts than Billboard, wich means that BB's Hot100Airplay/Radio Songs chart seriously lacks, especially because the airplay represents 50% of the Hot 100. ARIA: Check out what the Australians are buying and listening to.Very supportive of their local artists. RIANZ: This is New Zealand's official charts. They love hip-hop,crunk and the general popular music scene.Awesome!Third to the US and Canada(2nd),I think they have the best music taste. Canadian Music Charts (CANOE): The official Canadian Sales&Airplay charts.Of course, very similar to the US.Includes the full Billlboard Canadaian Hot 100.From the country with the best bands, they love supporting their own. CashBox: A competitor for Billboard. They invented the Bullet(signifies the hottestsongs) and sales are the main influence on their charts. And that's how it should be.This, obviously directed at Billboard, from CashBox's President,Bruce Elrod: "We don’t want you to have to look through all the genres to find a single song that may not even be worthy of a chart position. Our competitors seem to think that they can please everyone by having every song that was ever recorded listed somewhere (if anyone can remember where it is listed)". iTunes Top 100 (and other daily updated USA iTunes Store sales charts): There are various website's that have the iTunes Top100 listed, but this is my first choice, because it is printable as wlll.Update daily, via Windpowersports.com. doiPod: A almost daily blog on all things iPod.The officiall UK & US iTunes charts, with images.See how the two countries differ in music taste. Also very cool website, updated daily.. Euro iTunes: For iTunes Top10 sales charts, across all genres in all the countries where iTunes is available.Click here for various other sales charts. FluxBlog: This is a site I visit almost every week. For awesome reviews on hot new tunes from new,old and top artists. ZME Music: Latest music news, reviews, videos and really vibey features, for the masses. There you go.Any other sites(music or not) you know of? Let me know, plz.

INTRODUCTION:HELLO AND WELCOME

Thank you for visiting my blog.By now you probably know that I'm a music fanatic, let alone a follower of Billboard magazine.I was never serious about starting a blog, until November, last year. I thought of possible ways to provide(in this case post) some interesting additional 2009 Year-end Billboard charts info(oh.I've procrastinated, but you can still look forward to that). Anyway, the blog will be about Billboard.com charts activities, the music industry, entertainment and arts, news&reviews, and general social happenings. Next week I will "officially" launch my blog, with weekly features.such as Song,Artist,Album, etc of the Week and news stories.Just think Billboard.com,but my smaller version. Please feel free to give me feedback about anything.I'm still in the beginner's stage. You can mail me,billythebillboarder@yahoo.com or post a comment below.TNX!
